Sikkim and Darjeeling
Day 01: Arrival at IXB/NJP/Siliguri and Transfer to Gangtok
Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport (IXB), NJP Railway Station, or Siliguri, you will be warmly greeted and transferred to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. Nestled at an elevation of 1,650 meters, Gangtok serves as the gateway to Sikkim. After checking in at the hotel, unwind and enjoy the serene ambiance of this charming hill station. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok.
Day 02: Excursion to Changu Lake and Baba Mandir
Begin your day with breakfast and set off for an excursion to Changu Lake (Tsomgo Lake), located at an altitude of 12,400 feet. This mesmerizing glacial lake is revered for its scenic beauty and is a sacred site for the locals. Proceed to Baba Mandir, a shrine dedicated to the legendary Baba Harbhajan Singh. Return to Gangtok in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 03: Gangtok to Darjeeling Transfer
After breakfast, check out and drive to Darjeeling, a picturesque town nestled amidst the slopes of the Lesser Himalayas at an altitude of 6,730 feet. Known as the “Queen of the Hills,” Darjeeling is famous for its scenic tea plantations, friendly locals, and breathtaking views of Mt. Kanchenjunga, the third-highest peak in the world. On arrival, check in to the hotel. Enjoy a relaxed evening soaking in the charm of Darjeeling. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 04: Darjeeling Sightseeing
Start your day early (3:30 am) with a trip to Tiger Hill (2,590 meters) to witness the awe-inspiring sunrise over Mt. Kanchenjunga. En route back, visit Ghoom Monastery, one of the oldest in Darjeeling, and the iconic Batasia Loop, offering panoramic views and a war memorial.
After breakfast, proceed for a half-day city tour covering:
- Japanese Temple & Peace Pagoda
- Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (closed on Thursdays)
- Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed on Thursdays)
- Tenzing Rock
- Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Centre (closed on Sundays)
- Outer view of Tea Gardens (Chitrey)
Spend the evening exploring the local market or relaxing at your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Darjeeling.
Day 05: Departure to IXB/NJP/Siliguri
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Bagdogra Airport (IXB), NJP Railway Station, or Siliguri for your onward journey. Bid farewell to the mesmerizing hills of Sikkim and Darjeeling with cherished memories.
