Day 1: Arrival at Phuntsholing
Upon arrival at the station, guests will be greeted by our representative and escorted to the Bhutan-India border. Here, you will meet our Bhutan representative, who will assist with immigration formalities. Enjoy an overnight stay at a hotel in Phuntsholing.
Day 2: Phuntsholing to Thimphu
After breakfast, begin your journey to Thimphu. En route, marvel at the breathtaking views of the Indian plains and the Toorsa River. Witness Bhutan’s first hydroelectric power project and explore charming towns like Chimakothi and Chapcha. The road ascends to 2,800m before descending along the Wang Chu River to Chuzom. A 30-minute drive from Chuzom takes you to Thimphu. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 3: Thimphu Sightseeing
Begin your day with an early breakfast, followed by a visit to Thimphu’s iconic attractions. Explore Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Point), home to the world’s largest sitting Buddha statue, and enjoy panoramic views of the Thimphu Valley. Visit the Motithang Takin Preserve, a natural habitat for Bhutan’s national animal, the Takin. Discover traditional crafts at the Jungshi Handmade Paper Factory and delve into Bhutanese culture at the Folk Heritage Museum. Stop by the peaceful Thangthong Dewachen Nunnery, admire intricate textile arts at the Bhutan Textile Museum, and relax at Coronation Park, a serene picnic spot. End your day at the lively Centenary Farmers Market, Bhutan’s largest market for fresh produce. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 4: Thimphu to Paro
After breakfast, drive to Paro, stopping at the famous Dochula Pass (3,100m) for stunning views of the Himalayan ranges on clear days. Visit Tamchog Lhakhang, a temple dedicated to the 13th-century saint Thangthong Gyalpo, known as the iron bridge builder. Upon arrival in Paro, explore:
Ta Dzong (National Museum): Once a watchtower, now a museum showcasing Bhutanese history and culture. Check in at the hotel in Paro. Overnight stay in Paro.
Day 5: Paro to Phuntsholing
Bid farewell to Paro and journey back to Phuntsholing. Our Bhutan team will escort you to the border and ensure a smooth transition. Overnight stay at a hotel in Phuntsholing.
Day 06: Departure
After breakfast, depart from Phuntsholing with wonderful memories of your Bhutan adventure.
